Invitation to the German-American Day 2010 in Wiesbaden, October 9

On October 6th, 1683 a group of German settlers are on record as having landed at what is today Philadelphia. In 1987 President Ronald Reagan declared October 6th the official German-American Day.
The FGAC is pleased to invite you to the celebration of German-American DayOctober 9th, 2010 at 15:00 hours in the Ceremonial Hall of the New City Hall. An attractive program awaits you and its highlight is the awarding of the 31th annual General Lucius D. Clay Medal to an individual who has contributed greatly to the cause of German-American friendship. Reception follows the ceremonies.
Some 22 clubs were represented at the 2010
Convention held May 15 and 16 in Duisburg
at which concurrent seminars and events were held for the Federation's exchange
students and Youth Work program. The DA
Freundeskreis Niederrhein e.V. organized a very successful schedule of events
including a festive banquet on Saturday which everyone enjoyed.
The actual changing of the guard occurred
on Sunday with many words of praise for the many accomplishments of outgoing President
Annette Thor and her board. The new
board was elected without opposition for a two year term:
