The Mannheim German-American Women's Club funnelled 27,000 Euro to five American and 14 German social organizations at its spring benefit concert March 28 in Luisenpark's Baumhain auditorium.

Recipients included German welfare projects, American military community projects and joint-nation projects.

"It was a sold-out, standing-room-only crowd," said Betty Fried, the club's welfare chairperson. "We are so pleased with the turnout for the concert and with the participation that we share with the German community."
